Festival Planning Updates!

Good evening everyone! Thank you so much for your patience. I have a bunch of information to share, so I'll get right to it.

We have confirmed some events for this year's festival. The opening will take place once again at The Train Station. This beautifully renovated building will get your creative juices flowing! We also have a quilt show, two unique rug shows, a sock heel clinic, workshops in weaving, rug hooking, and quilting, a sew-in, and a lecture to help you document life experiences in your rugs. Even with all that, we are looking for more. If you are interested in instructing a class, or presenting at the festival, please complete this application. If you would like to see a certain instructor or course, please feel free to suggest something, and I will reach out to them.

The Zonta Bazaar is always poplar. This vendor showcase on the Saturday of the festival, is now confirmed. Vendor registration will be happening shortly. I will be sure to dedicate a post to that when it's ready!

A few people have asked about accommodations, and where the events are happening. We don't have this year's map ready yet, but I have included a previous year's below. As you can see, Amherst is a fairly small town, so nothing is too far away from anything. Hotel chain options include:
Travelodge (formerly the Wandlyn)
Super 8
Comfort Inn
Amherst also has a few independent motels in town, as well as bed and breakfast options both in and just outside of town. There is cab service, but no public transit. Food options include great coffee shops, restaurants, and multiple grocery stores! We also have great beaches less than 30 minutes away. Visit novascotia.com for some trip planning help.

Hope to see you there!
