2026 Photos

Photos from 2026 events. If you have any to share, please forward to fibreartsfestival@gmail.com (make sure you get the subject's permission to post!)

Be sure to visit the Cumberland Museum and Archives, and check out the hooked chair pad exhibit.

Participants in the Plein Air Rig Hooking Experience received their assignments today, and got started sketching out ideas right away.

Deanne hosted a Tea and Hook-in on Wednesday.

You'd think it was a food festival, not a fibre arts festival, but those who know, know!

Also on Wednesday, the Sew In! This is a dedicated group that gets together on the Wednesday of the Fibre Arts Festival to squeeze in as much sewing and laughing as they can.

The documentary Hooked, by Catherine Bussiere, was well attended and definitely had everyone's attention. The photography was stunning, and Deanne was inspiring as always. If you get the chance to see it, definitely do so!

We had a great crowd at the Train Station for our official opening. Special guests included Fred Gould, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Cumberland, and Rob Small, Mayor of the town of Amherst. Regrets were sent by Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin, MLA for Cumberland North, and Alana Hirtle, MP for Cumberland-Colchester. While Mayor Small had a captive audience, he unveiled the new Amherst Tartan! If you're interested in learning more, please reach out to the town, or Maritime Tartan Company.

The tease!

The Tartan!

The deets!

...and the food! (It's all about the food)

Focal Point Photography and Framing has demos and displays this week for the Festival. They are located at 93 Victoria St E (right between the Rug show and the Quilt show - just saying!). There's some beautiful work and Jan and Angela are eager to show it off.

A Barns and Moonlight workshop at Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio was well attended this afternoon, and everyone was making great progress on their projects.

Today, Loopy Wool taught a needle felting workshop, looks like everyone had a great time!

Victoria's Quilts Tantramar Branch made sure sure everyone had a tasty lunch (told you it is all about the food). They are also selling tickets on a gorgeous bargello quilt (photos to come).

And the rug and quilt shows are both underway!

You can visit them both on Saturday as well. Bring those pennies! There are raffle tickets to buy and shopping to be done!
